This policy explains how Screen My Bones uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.
Last updated: 20 July 2026
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to website owners.
Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until they expire or you delete them) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser). First-party cookies are set by the website you're visiting, while third-party cookies are set by other services.
These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and accessibility.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| smb-cookie-consent | Remembers your cookie choices. Stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, so it is never sent to our servers | Until you clear it, or 12 months |
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website. They are only set after you accept Analytics cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics - distinguishes users | 2 years |
| _ga_913JX0SL33 | Google Analytics - keeps track of your session for our specific property | 2 years |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity - persistent user identifier for session analytics | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity - session identifier linking page views within a visit | 1 day |
These enable optional features that rely on third-party services. We only load those services once you accept this category.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Map tiles (OpenStreetMap) | Loading a map on our location, booking or partner pages shares your IP address with the OpenStreetMap Foundation so the map images can be delivered | No cookie is set; the request happens only when a map loads |
| Google Maps (place search) | Powers the location search box on our booking page. Google sets cookies and receives your IP address when this is used | Set by Google; see Google's privacy policy |
These cookies are used to track visitors across websites, measure advertising effectiveness, and display relevant advertisements on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta Pixel - identifies browsers for ad targeting | 3 months |
| _fbc | Meta Pixel - stores click identifier from Facebook ads | 3 months |
| fr | Meta - delivers, measures, and improves ad relevance | 3 months |
When you first visit our website, you'll see a cookie banner that allows you to accept or customize your cookie preferences. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
For detailed instructions on how to manage cookies in your browser:
You can browse this site with every optional category switched off, and nothing essential will break. Declining does mean:
If you clear your browser storage you will also clear your saved cookie choices, so you will be asked again on your next visit.
Some cookies on our website are placed by third-party services. These include:
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means the Google tag loads on every page but starts in a fully restricted state: until you accept Analytics cookies it stores nothing on your device and sets no cookies. In that restricted state it still sends Google a basic, cookieless measurement signal — the page address, page title, referring page, screen size, language and your IP address — which cannot be tied to you or to your other visits. If you accept Analytics cookies, the cookies listed above are set and measurement becomes linked to a randomly generated identifier. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use Meta's advertising tools (such as Meta Pixel) to understand how our ads perform and to show you more relevant advertisements on Meta platforms like Facebook and Instagram. You can manage whether we connect information from our website with your Meta account for advertising purposes by adjusting your settings within your Meta account ad preferences.
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our pages through session replays, click maps, and scroll heatmaps. A session replay is a reconstruction of how a visit moved through the page — mouse movement, clicks and scrolling. Clarity loads only after you accept Analytics cookies, and is automatically disabled if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can read more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Maps on our location, booking and partner pages are drawn using map images from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which receives your IP address when a map loads. We do not load any map until you accept Functional cookies. Video testimonials are hosted by Vimeo and are only loaded when you press play; we request them in Vimeo's do-not-track mode, so Vimeo does not set tracking cookies or log the session.
Some browsers and extensions can send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which tells every website you visit that you do not want your data shared or sold. We honour it for all visitors, wherever you are — not only where the law requires it.
If we detect a GPC signal, Analytics and Marketing cookies stay switched off, and they remain off even if the “Accept All” button is pressed. Only the essential preference record described above is stored.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our data practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
